The Davao Culinary Cup took a new direction this year, adopting an educational approach that replaced the traditional competition format with community learning.
LTB Professional Members from Manila conducted live cooking demonstrations on May 22-23, 2025 at SM Lanang in Davao City.
The participating chefs included James Antolin, Buddy Trinidad, Mia Yan, Mike Yap, Christopher Balane, Cherrie Uy-Tan, and Penk Ching.
This year's event focused on giving back to the culinary community. Instead of judging participants' dishes, the invited chefs shared their signature dishes while providing free culinary education to students and audiences.
Chef Sally San Jose, founding president of LTB Davao Chapter, said the new format was simpler but more meaningful.
The change came after the team participated in the Worldchefs Congress in Singapore in October 2024, where they were exposed to fresh creative ideas that were integrated into Davao's culinary scene.
Incoming president Chef Bambi Lim of Le Culinaire noted that the event showcased proficiency and high quality while serving as inspiration for young, aspiring chefs.
