WACS International Chefs Day 2016 Nestlé Healthy Kids program

Dear Chefs and members,

In commemoration of International Chefs Day 2016, LTB Philippines Chefs Association in cooperation with Nestlé Professional traveled to the town of Tanauan in Batangas, Philippines to celebrate the WorldChefs’ theme “Healthy Kids – Art on a Plate” with over fifty (50) school children.

LTB Philippines partnered with Nestlé Professional Philippines and spent the day in Ulango Integrated School last December 5, 2016. It was a day filled with fun activities & presentations about healthy eating with fruits & vegetables.

To start, the 9 year olds were all given toques & crayons for them to customize & design with the day’s theme in mind. Next was an individual making of the healthy ingredients in making a colourful, healthy salad. Then a group presentation of the healthy fruits & vegetables in a Boodle Fight theme. Showing the importance of the color & how it helps make you healthy.

Together with LTB Philippines Chefs James Antolin, J. Gamboa, Sito Senn, Sonny Mariano, Phillip Ching, Ernest De Guzman, Cherrie Uy-Tan, Nestlé Chef Regina Acorda-Mendoza and the Philippine Young Chefs Club (PYCC) we demonstrated in the handling & presentation of fresh fruits & vegetables. The children were very enthusiastic & enjoyed the hands-on food preparation experience. After the demonstration, we had an afternoon party with the children tasting the two dishes and everyone truly the had best time!
